Bead/crimp - Technique instructions

A bead used to add a fine detail, yet also taking on an unobtrusive position in the jewellery design. The beads works like a pivot, functioning seamlessly with neighbouring beads to characterise the finished design in an artful fashion, there, but not.

The bead doubles as a crimp due to the dynamic shape for use with a larger Diameter threading material; works perfectly with 0.8mm Diameter Diamond cut ball chain. This 1.8mm bead is technically a bead but its shape, and that it is sterling silver; when used in its alternative use, as a crimp, adheres well to the new shape required when squeezed with chain nose pliers, to suspend a run or a single bead in place on a chain. 

The size of the hole allows up to two strands of 0.45mm diameter cable to pass through it together adding further functional design features. (Chain nose pliers required for this item).

Sterling Silver is coated with a flash of precious metal, creating a component with a lustrous and shiny dark grey finish. If your Black Finish jewellery develops blemishes on it, it may not have been worn for some time and needs a clean. To do this, simply wipe your piece with a soft, dry cloth and your piece will become fabulous and glossy again.
